IMAX Film
Presentations "The Living Sea" Featuring music
by Grammy-winning artist Sting and narration by
actress Meryl Streep, the 40-minute motion picture
is presented on the Center's seven-story IMAX
screen. The Academy Award-nominated film takes
viewer on a deep-sea journey of discovery about
currents, tides, water cycles and how the ocean
waters of the world are linked by them. Audiences
feel the power of the ocean as they surf thundering
waves in Hawai'i, track humpback whales in the open
ocean, ride in a Coast Guard rescue boat, and take
a guided tour of Palau and its giant clam farms an
mysterious Jellyfish Lake. The filming of "The
Living Sea" represents the realization of a
long-time dream for director Greg MacGillivray, who
began his career in movies more than 25 years ago
with award-winning surfing films. Renowned
oceanographer and deep-ocean explorer Robert D.
Ballard served as academic advisor to "The Living
Sea" production team. "Polynesian
Odyssey" The Center also
shows the IMAX presentation, "Polynesian
Odyssey," which takes viewers through 5,000 years
of Polynesian history, including daring
transoceanic travels, battles, rituals and customs.
The film presents the likely origins of the
Polynesian peoples, recounts Captain Cook's
dramatic arrival, and re-creates the struggles and
daily life of early island dwellers. Canoe Pagent

Aina "The fruits of
the land" In the heart of
Hawai'i is the friendly isle of Moloka'i, the most
Hawaiian of the accessible islands. You'll find our
5-acre, Hawaiian homestead and macadamia nut farm
in Molokai's central Ho'olehua district. We are Tuddie
and Kammy Purdy and we've been entertaining and
educating Moloka'i visitors in the shade of our mac
nut trees since 1980. Tuddie, born and raised on
Moloka'i, has a wealth of knowledge concerning
macadamia nuts, Hawaiian culture and Moloka'i, and
he enjoys sharing his insights with folks visiting
our beautiful island. So, be sure to
stop by for a visit the next time you're in our
neighborhood. Relax in the
shade and chat a while. You can crack a few nuts
yourself to sample fresh-from-the-shell or try some
macadamia blossom honey. We'd love to
meet you! Monday-Friday:
