leisurely paddle around Makena Bay for first time
or experienced paddlers. Highlights include
snorkeling with green sea turtles, wonderful views

ADVENTURE - This guided excursion travels over
privately owned lands to the inaccessible and
historic Kohala Sugar Plantation irrigation system.
There is an approximately 35 minute drive to the
waterway in 4 x 4 vans from the Kohala Mountain
Kayak Headquarters. The Irrigation system is a 22.5
mile series of open ditches, flumes and tunnels.
The "cruise" is a leisurely trip that meanders over
a scenic portion of the system, traveling through
pristine rain forests, over ravines and waterfalls
and through dark, mysterious tunnels. There is no
white water involved in this trip. Learn about the
culture and history of the Kohala region from local
guides who are experienced kayakers and trained in
water safety. A cultural and recreational
wilderness adventure for the whole family. No
Kayaking experience is necessary. WHAT TO WEAR:
swimsuit or quick drying shorts and shirt, reef
